International Network on Limnology of Drylands

Identity

 

International Network on Limnology of Drylands (INLD) was created with the Its objectives are to (1) assess the current state of biological diversity in dryland aquatic ecosystems, (2) evaluate the multiple environmental stressors acting in drylands, and (3) develop models to predict the effects of global change on drylands (Barbosa et al. 2020). 

 

Drylands account for nearly 40% of the world’s surface area, encompassing hyper-arid, arid, semi-arid, and sub-humid regions, most of them within developing countries inhabited by more than one-third of the world population, covering extensive areas of all continents.
